The public space is characterized by its dynamic and continuous changing appearance.
These changes often leave traces and building remnants with past/antiquated functions
and now have become external relicts that are not included into new building planning. Remains which, used in unintended ways, become a seating (–œhang-out–) or meeting point for youth from all social classes.
These non categorized elements of the public space will, in this project, be signified as –œRaumprothesen– (space prostheses) and hereby declared –œworthy to design.–
In relation to this, illegalized immigrants are forced into taking a similar role within the European public space. Perceived as difficult to categorize "social protagonists",
they often have to work without working permits and stay invisible as much as possible.
Above all, they are actors of a foreign culture, which is seen only marginally and as a cliché, as it is in the case of the many street musicians of Berlin.
